In middle school and high school, a lot of my art was centered around music. I found a lot of my inspiration coming from different album covers and lyrics. I listened to a lot of music during my free time, and there was a period of time I couldn’t create without listening to something I liked.
I had a lot of inspiration come from the band Korn. It was one of my favorite bands in high school. I had a lot of mental health issues going on during that time and it felt like music was the only thing that made sense at the time, especially the album Issues by Korn. It talked a lot about feeling crazy, losing hope, and just feeling utterly lost, which I felt for a good number of years.
I created this piece as an homage to the Issues cover. They had released a replica rag doll of the one on the cover which I found a music shop. I loved it a lot, and made a piece depicting multiple of them, and them almost relying on each other. I remember at the time art became very hard for me to do, and this piece helped me work through a part of that at the time.
